Rửa original meaning is to make something free from dirt or dust by washing or rubbing it.

However, nowadays, young Vietnamese people use it with a different meaning which is totreat other people to meal when you have/buy or receive something new such as a new phone, a new laptop or a new job, a new position etc.

This so-called meal can be a big party or just a regular meal depending on the value of that new thing or how much of your budget.

Examples:

Lan ơi, mới mua xe hả? Rửa đi!

Nghe nói Viên mới mua điện thoại, rửa đi chứ?
