Do you know about the currency of Vietnam?

Let’s learn how to read Vietnamese currency with VLS.

THOUSAND is either NGHÌN or NGÀN in Vietnamese. NGÀN is used in the Central and the South of Vietnam.
• In daily life, with any multiple of 10 (from 10 to 90), “CHỤC” is often used instead of “MƯƠI”.
For example :
20, 000 vnd – Hai mươi nghìn/ngàn – Hai chục
90, 000 vnd – Chín mươi nghìn/ngàn – Chín chục

• It’s “Mười một nghìn/ngàn” (11.000 VND) but “Hai mốt nghìn/ngàn” (21.000 VND)

• When 500 VND or 50,000 VND , or 500,000 VND… go with another number, you can say them as RƯỠI (and a half):
For example:
1,500 vnd – Một nghìn/ngàn rưỡi
150,000 vnd – Một trăm rưỡi nghìn/ ngàn
