Founded in 1987, the museum is the place that collects, stores and displays art objects of Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding areas. Currently, it has more than 21,000 artifacts and precious collections of artists.
In addition, visitors can also see the collection of ancient artifacts as Southern stoneware, Biên Hòa pottery, Champa art and so on. With its huge number of artifacts, this museum became a major art center of Vietnam. In particular, this building has many windows with 99 panels.
Designed in the Baroque style of French, this is one of the most unique houses in Ho Chi Minh City. It still retains the characteristics of its architecture. When visiting the museum, visitors can have a look at the first elevator which was installed in Ho Chi Minh City.
